I want to share my life hack - how to keep peeled potatoes for several days without soaking! I have my own way, which I came up with a long time ago.
In general, the easiest and most troublesome way to preserve potatoes is to soak them in water. If you have excess peeled potatoes, then you need to fill it with cold water so that it completely covers it, and put it in the refrigerator.
The disadvantage of this method is that you can store potatoes in this way for no more than 4 hours. Further, all substances are already beginning to be washed out of it, and then the potatoes will be tasteless. You can still freeze it, but I don't like this method. I love fresh potatoes.
Well, if you need to keep the potatoes for several days, then I do this: I wash the peeled potatoes in cold water. And then I wrap each tuber tightly with cling film.
It is necessary to wrap it very tightly so that there is no air between the potatoes and the film. Put the wrapped potatoes in a regular plastic bag and put them in the refrigerator.
In this form, potatoes are stored and do not turn black for one or two days. If you store it longer, then it begins to deteriorate and turn black. I also draw your attention to the fact that if you wrapped the tubers in a film loosely, then the potatoes will begin to turn black earlier.
In general, this is my life hack. Write in the comments, and how do you save peeled potatoes.
