My cheese is always fresh, although it has been in the refrigerator for a long time. And if you are faced with the fact that the cheese in the refrigerator grows moldy, then this article is for you. I will explain what I am doing to avoid such a problem.

In general, for many housewives, cheese becomes moldy because it is not stored correctly. For example, if you put it on the refrigerator door, then the formation of mold is inevitable, because with frequent opening and closing the refrigerator there is a temperature drop, and this greatly affects the quality and taste of cheese, often it grows moldy.

But the point is not even on which shelf to store the cheese. And in not allowing air to get to the surface of the cheese during storage, otherwise it will become moldy or dry, this is 100%.

Therefore, I tell you what I am doing. The secret is very simple: you just need to grease a slice of cheese with butter. The butter will cut off air access to the surface of the cheese and it will stay fresh longer.

As soon as you get the cheese out of the fridge, you can immediately chop it up, and if you don't need butter, just remove it with a napkin. Slice the required amount of cheese and grease the slices again. That's the whole secret.

By the way, I store cheese in parchment or cling film, and never put it in a regular plastic bag.

Also, sometimes I grate the rest of the cheese, put it in a bag and then freeze it. Therefore, my cheese never grows moldy and does not dry out.
