Delicious salad, which I have been making for probably 10 years. Of all the salads for the winter, I like it the most, so I heartily recommend the recipe to you. By the way, the very first salad ends here - we eat everything that I roll. I want to do more this year.
Ingredients:
cabbage - 1 kg
tomatoes -1 kg
cucumbers - 1 kg
onions - 1 kg
sweet pepper (bulgarian) - 1 kg
salt
vinegar
vegetable oil
Bay leaf
peppercorns
cloves optional
Attention: from the specified number of ingredients, 10 cans of salad with a volume of 0.5 liters are obtained. Read the recipe carefully, I indicate exactly half-liter cans in it.
So, first we need to heat 20 tablespoons of vegetable oil to a boil and cool it to room temperature. While the oil cools down, let's turn to the vegetables.
Shred cabbage into strips, cut cucumbers into slices or semicircles. Chop the sweet (bell pepper) into strips, cut the onions in half rings and cut the tomatoes into medium slices. By the way, it is better to take pink tomatoes - with them the salad is the most delicious. Each of the vegetables will need 1 kg.
Then add 4 tablespoons of salt, 300 ml of vinegar of 5-6% strength to the vegetables and mix everything.
At the bottom of each prepared jar, put 2 allspice peas, 1 clove bud (this is optional), and also half a bay leaf. Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, which we boiled and cooled in advance.
Now we put vegetables in the jars, and top up with the resulting juice. Sterilize jars of salad for 20 minutes after boiling, then close the lids.
