Never throw away lemon peels, they can be used to make fragrant lemon powder, which can then be useful for preparing a variety of dishes.
So, I'm telling you what I'm doing. I buy several lemons and wash them thoroughly in hot water and soda. You can also use a sponge. I have already written an article that lemons are processed on top with a special composition, thanks to which they stay in the store for a long time and do not deteriorate. Therefore, at home, lemons must be thoroughly washed - they will become clean and very fragrant.
Remove the peel from the lemons with a thin layer. Now the peel needs to be dried. If you have a special dryer, then use it.
I don't have such a device, so I dry in the oven for 5-6 hours at a temperature of about 50 degrees. In this case, the oven should be slightly open to allow air access. You can also dry on the balcony or on the veranda / yard, in general, where there is good ventilation and the sun.
As soon as the lemon peels are completely dry, we transfer them to a coffee grinder and grind them to a powder state. Transfer the resulting lemon powder to a dry glass jar and seal it tightly.
This lemon powder can be used in any dish that needs lemon peel. I add it to baked goods, sauces, marinades, you can just sprinkle the cooked dish on top. Can also be added to tea leaves - basically anywhere.
In a similar way, you can prepare a powder from orange peel and tangerine. Bon appetit, friends!
