The first thing I do is pickle onions. To do this, I chop it finely, put it in a deep plate, add salt, sugar, lemon juice (or apple cider vinegar) and water. Stir and leave for 15-20 minutes. This salad tastes better with pickled onions.

I boiled vegetables in advance and cooled them down. Carrots, potatoes and beets.

I grate vegetables. I take a medium grater. But here it is not very important - you can grate it on a fine one - then the salad will turn out more tender. I usually rub like this:

To easily wash my hands after beets, I grease them with vegetable oil. Then my warm water - and everything is clean))

You can collect salad in one form. But I usually cook herring under a fur coat in portions. It is very convenient to serve and it turns out beautifully.

I spread the potatoes at the bottom. You can grease the bottom of the form with mayonnaise.

The second layer is herring. I cut it into small cubes and carefully remove all the bones. I salt the herring for this salad myself. At the end of the article, I will add a video in which I showed five recipes for salted herring at once.

Next is mayonnaise. I have a home, but it is quite possible to take a store one. The next layer is pickled onions. Of course, I drained the liquid.

And now the not quite usual ingredient for this salad is smoked mackerel. It needs quite a bit (5 times less than herrings).

Then carrots and again a little mayonnaise.

The top layer is beets and mayonnaise. I decorate the salad with boiled eggs. Separate the whites from the yolks. I rub the whites on a coarse grater, the yolks on a fine grater. You can add eggs not on top, but in one of the layers - this is also delicious.

I cover the salad with cling film and put it in the refrigerator. But, of course, you can serve it right away.

INGREDIENTS:

• Salted herring - 1 pc.
• Smoked mackerel - 1/5 pcs.
• Boiled potatoes - 4 pcs.
• Boiled beets - 2 pcs.
• Boiled carrots - 1 pc.
• Boiled eggs - 4 pcs.
• Onion - 1 pc.
For the marinade:
• Lemon juice - 2 tbsp.
• Salt -1/3 tsp.
• Sugar - 1 tsp.
• Water - 2 tbsp.
For refueling:
• Mayonnaise - 4-5 tbsp.
