I most often make pies from ordinary yeast dough, sometimes bake in the oven, but most often I fry in a pan. Quite recently I found what I think is a very interesting dough recipe. It seemed unusual to me that there is absolutely no ordinary white flour in it... The dough turns out to be very tasty, tender and slightly crumbly, but does not crumble in the hands.
Last summer I frozen pitted cherries, and I decided to use it as a filling. For 600 grams of berries, I added 3 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of starch.
While preparing the pies, the cherries were kept on a sieve all the time so that excess juice would constantly drain.
Dough:
300 grams of sour cream (I have homemade)
2 eggs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
3 teaspoons of sugar
a pinch of salt
300 grams of whole wheat flour
100 grams of oat flour
Knead the dough and leave in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. It should not stick to your hands too much, if necessary, you can add a handful of flour, but do not overdo it, the dough should remain soft and elastic. Before you start forming the pies, you need to grease your hands and the work surface with vegetable oil, a rolling pin is not needed, the dough lends itself very easily.
The pies need to be formed as in the photo and sent to an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
We ate these pies when they were still warm, it turned out so delicious that it was impossible to resist.
