Hello, my name is Oksana! I am glad to greet everyone who has looked at my page. Thanks so much for taking the time to read my recipes! I would be grateful for your comments and subscriptions!
I think it happens to everyone that the purchased kefir is not used to the end. We drank a certain amount, the rest stays in the refrigerator for several days. Of course, you don't feel like drinking sour kefir, but you shouldn't pour it out either. This kefir is just perfect for baking!
Today I want to invite you to cook lush and tasty crumpets in a pan, for the preparation of which sour kefir is even better than fresh!
And at the bottom of this article I will leave 2 more links for you, where I show how I cook pasties and pies, for which I also knead the dough on kefir. Be sure to see - everything is delicious!
Cooking ingredients:
Kefir - 100 ml
Chicken egg - 1 pc.
Sugar - 2-3 tbsp. l.
Salt - a pinch
Soda - 1/2 tsp l.
Vanillin to taste
Flour - about 250 g
Vegetable oil for frying
Let's start cooking ...
Pour kefir into a bowl, by the way, you can use slightly sour sour cream (it will be even tastier), add soda and wait for the acid-base reaction.
Next, put sugar, salt, a little vanilla for taste - this is a variant of sweet crumpets. If you want to cook savory crumpets - instead of bread, reduce sugar to 2 teaspoons, and do not put vanillin, and put 1/2 teaspoon of salt. We also break the egg and mix.
Sift flour and knead soft, not too dense dough. Cover the bowl with the dough with a towel and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, put all the dough on the work surface of the table, sprinkle it with a little flour and roll it into a layer, 0.5-0.6 cm thick. And then with the help of a glass or a special cutting, we cut out donuts. Although you can simply cut into squares or diamonds.
Fry in a pan with the addition of a small amount of vegetable oil from two sides until a characteristic beautiful golden brown crust is formed - they are fried very quickly, and well are baked. Such crumpets, cooked on sour kefir, are really very lush - if you use fresh (young) kefir, you will get not crumpets, but cakes. Although very tasty too! Cook, try, Bon appetit!
