The perfect dinner for the whole family: I cook meatballs with potatoes in the oven under a cheese crust

Each housewife, with minced meat and potatoes, can prepare a decent dinner for a large family!

I'm making meatballs with potatoes for dinner tonight. I bake it all in the oven with sauce, under a cheese crust. It's very tasty and simple, and the sauce makes the meatballs incredibly juicy.

Cooking ingredients:

Minced meat - 500 g
Potatoes - 4-5 pcs.
Bulb onions - 1 pc.
Garlic - 2-3 cloves
Greens
Salt, black pepper, spices
Hard cheese - 100 g
For the sauce:
Butter - 50 g
Flour - 2 tbsp. l. (incomplete)
Milk - 0.5 l
Salt, black pepper - to taste

The preparation of this dish will be in several stages - but, everything is very fast! First of all, we peel the potatoes, put them in a saucepan, fill them with water and cook for literally 5 minutes, after the water boils. The potatoes can be cooked whole and then cut into round slices. Or immediately chop before cooking... No difference!

While the potatoes are boiling, prepare the sauce - melt the butter in a frying pan, add flour, mix and gradually pour in milk, after thickening, add salt and black pepper to taste. It will take you less than 5 minutes.

And now we make meatballs. We take any minced meat for their preparation, add chopped onions, garlic squeezed through a garlic press. Chopped greens, in my case it is dill, but you can use absolutely any greens, and not only fresh ones. We put spices to your taste, black pepper and salt, mix.

We form small meatballs from the finished minced meat.

Next, take a suitable baking dish, grease it with a little vegetable oil, lay out the meatballs, and fill all the free space with chopped boiled potatoes.

Pour milk sauce on top and grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

Meatballs with potatoes are cooked in the oven at 180 degrees, about 30-35 minutes. And before serving, the dish can be sprinkled with chopped fresh herbs - and it is very juicy and tasty! Cook, taste, Bon appetit!
