Already in the title, I noted that there are a lot of apple pie recipes - today I want to offer you one of them. The cake is called "Apples in a snowdrift".

Cooking ingredients:

Butter (margarine) - 200 g
Chicken eggs - 4 pcs.
Sugar - 250-260 g
Vanillin - to taste
Salt - 1 pinch
Wheat flour - about 350 g
Large apples - 4 pcs.

Begin...

First of all, we take four eggs and divide them separately into yolks and whites - the yolks will be needed for preparation of the dough, and the proteins will also be used to prepare the airy protein meringue, which will cover apples. Hence, in fact, the name! We must put the separated proteins in the refrigerator, they must be chilled.

And let's start cooking dough... To do this, sift flour into a bowl - first, somewhere only 300 g, add soft butter or margarine, 3-4 tbsp. l. sugar, salt, vanillin to taste, egg yolks.

And, knead a homogeneous soft dough. If there is not enough flour, add it.

Now we take a baking dish with a diameter of up to 26 cm, grease it with a small amount of vegetable oil, sprinkle with a little flour or bread crumbs. And, then, put the dough into it - closing the bottom and making the sides, we will make several punctures with the teeth of the fork. We send the form with the base for the cake to bake in the oven for 25 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees.

Meanwhile, peel the apples, cut them into small pieces, put them in the pan, add about 100 g of sugar, stir and simmer for about 5 minutes - during this time the apples will become soft.

By this time, the base for the cake has already been baked, we take it out of the oven - put the steamed apples on top, and leave it aside for now ...

We take out the cooled proteins from the refrigerator, add 3-4 tablespoons of sugar, vanillin to taste and beat with a mixer until a homogeneous airy protein mass is obtained. We spread the whipped proteins with a spoon on top of the apples - just don't spread them, but as if we make bumps and pull the long threads upwards.

We send again (now the pie) to the oven - for 7-10 minutes. During this time, the meringue on top should brown beautifully. Pie "Apples in a snowdrift" is ready - cook, taste, enjoy your tea!
