Greek people are a tasty and satisfying dish, they are prepared from minced meat with the addition of boiled buckwheat.

Greek people can be cooked like regular cutlets, but I recommend frying and then stewing with a little amount of water in a saucepan on the stove or simmer in a sauce (gravy) in the oven, then they will be softer, juicier and much tastier.

Ingredients:

Minced pork 600g
Raw buckwheat 200g
Eggs 1-2pcs
Garlic 2-3 teeth.
Coriander 1/3 tsp
Salt, black pepper to taste
Flour for breading 100g
Vegetable oil for frying

1. Boil the buckwheat for 20 minutes, let it brew and cool slightly (water 500ml, buckwheat 200g, salt 0.5 tsp).

2. Mix the minced pork, eggs, salt (1 tsp), ground black pepper, squeeze the garlic through the garlic, add coriander to enhance the taste. Stir. If the minced meat is too thick, you can add water.

3. Form the patties first and then roll in flour. From this amount of ingredients, we got 22 pieces.

My advice :

ready-made semi-finished cutlets can be covered with cling film and sent to the freezer, cook when you want or cook right now.

4. Fry on both sides in vegetable oil until half cooked. Put in a saucepan, simmer on the stove for 20-30 minutes, adding water to the bottom or in the oven with sauce (gravy).

Ingredients for the sauce (gravy):

Carrot 1pc
Sweet pepper 1pc
Onion 1pc
Ketchup 200g
Water 300ml
Vegetable oil 50ml
Salt, black pepper to taste

5. Chop vegetables, fry for 2-3 minutes in vegetable oil, add ketchup, salt, pepper to taste, water and simmer for another 3-4 minutes.

6. Pour the cutlets with sauce (gravy) and send to the preheated oven to 180 degrees for 30 minutes.

Grechaniki is a very satisfying and complete dish that does not require a side dish and additional salad to it.
