1. Onions are great for cleaning in the refrigerator. If the cleanliness of the glass shelves wants to be better, I just I cut the onion in half and wipe the glass. This is especially true when we go in the spring, for the first time in a year, to the dacha. I always take an onion with me, with half an onion I wipe all tables, stoves, cabinets, window sills. Then a little water and everything becomes not just clean, but almost sterile. Also, at the dacha it is good to clean the grill or skewers for barbecue with onions, and if there is nothing to wash the dishes with, for example, on a hike, the onion can perfectly disinfect it.
