Today I will tell how to conduct a "minute" test to determine the level of flicker on computer screens, TVs and smartphones. I called this test "one minute", since it takes no more than one minute of time to complete it. Also, for its implementation, no special tools or devices are needed, all we need is this an ordinary pen or pencil. I ran the test on all three devices, let's see what came of it.
1. A computer. To test, you need pick up a pencil or pen and, at arm's length, quickly wave them at the screen at eye level. If you see while driving uniform silhouette strokes of a pencil, the level of flickering is small and is normal for eye safety. And if during the movement you see, as it were, several contours of pencils, then the flicker is high and the screen, with prolonged use, is not safe for the eyes. Unfortunately, in the photo, it is impossible to display fast movements with a pencil. But my computer passed the test.
2.
But with the TV, things were worse. With similar actions the contours of several pencils were clearly visible. Even the photo was partially captured. The easiest way to reduce the flicker level is this will add brightness to the screen. Indeed, the brightness on the kitchen TV was not at its maximum, after the correction the result improved, but still not at the computer.3. Smartphone. The screen of a mobile device deserves the first place - no contours were even close, moreover, the very contour of the pencil movement was barely noticeable. In the photo, the pencil is not visible at all, scroll to the right. If you did not know about such a test - put your thumbs up!
