Today I will tell how not to make a mistake when choosing tea bags, showing by example three methods of recognizing quality tea bags. In previous articles, I already wrote that I mostly drink only brewed tea in the leaves, but packaged counterparts are always present at my home. Moreover, the summer season is opening now, and in the country, tea bags often help out when there is no time to tinker with custard. therefore it is important to be able to determine the quality of this product.
1. First of all, you need to pay attention to the quality of the bags. It is better to buy those packs of tea in which each bag is individually packed, since tea in them is less susceptible to external negative influences. Attaching the thread to the bag also matters - it is best when the thread is sewn, and not glued or attached to a bracket, because glue and iron will release harmful substances into the tea. Also, the bag itself must be made from cornstarch, nylon or rayon, but if it is made of paper, then it will degrade the quality of tea, due to the low throughput. Scroll the photo to the right.
2. To determine the presence of dyes in tea, dip the bag in a glass of cold water and leave for 10-15 minutes. If the water is not colored or slightly colored, then there are no dyes, if the tea is "brewed", then it is better to refrain from drinking it. I checked the two most, in my opinion, popular brands of tea, the result is in the photo, scroll to the right.
3. Brew tea in boiling water and leave for a few minutes. The drink must be transparent, not cloudy. In my experiment, the samples were also successfully tested, scroll to the right in the photo. By the way, it is not recommended to drink teas with any additives, since they contain a large amount of chemistry. Most of this tea is on store shelves.
