In today's article I will tell you aboutro Chinese way of planting potatoes. A neighbor in the country told me it, according to her, from one tuber it comes out in the fall at least a bucket of harvest, and her record was three buckets! Of course, this year many have already planted potatoes, but for the sake of interest, you can, like me, plant 5-6 tubers. This method is widespread in China and has proven itself on the good side.
1. We prepare the tubers. We choose the largest ones and make a "waist" in the middle of the tubers, cut out a groove around the tuber with a knife, width 1-1.5 centimeters. The work, of course, is painstaking, if the knife is very sharp, you can easily cut the potatoes in half. Fully cut tubers are not suitable for planting.
2. Preparing the potato trench. She should be quite deep, 40-50 centimeters. For each tuber we make a tubercle, add a little ash and place the potatoes in a horizontal position.
3. Then cover the potatoes with green grass and sprinkle with earth a little. It is important not to bury the potatoes, but just sprinkle it with earth, to maintain access to oxygen. You can also add some sand or other fertilizer to the grass. When planting in this way, the potatoes do not need to be hilled, but it is only necessary to add soil and fertilizers, when the plant grows to 15-20 centimeters.
