Today I am continuing a series of articles on various methods of cleaning the apartment. Namely, we will talk about American system, which was developed back in 1999 by Marla Scilly and named "Jet Housewife". This system has something in common with the German rules for putting things in order in the house, I don't know who borrowed from whom. I tested the "Jet Housewife" for 7 days, the results are shown below.
First, I'll tell you about the main idea of the American system. Throwing out a lot of, in my opinion, not important details, the essence of the method can be described as follows: (1) you should clean only on weekdays, for exactly 15 minutes in a certain area, Monday - entrance hall, Tuesday - kitchen, Wednesday - bathroom + additional room, Thursday - bedroom, Friday - living room; (2) also on weekdays another 5 minutes are given for any rooms, to fix urgent "problems"; (3) once a week, on weekdays, an hour is allocated for additional cleaning, for example, you can vacuum the entire apartment.
So, after a week, I did not notice any significant changes in the apartment. Of the pros, I liked the fact that, according to the rules, you need to get out, during the allotted time, as quickly as possible, thus, for example, in 15 minutes I did things like in half an hour. The main drawback, in my opinion, is that, per person crushes the load of "tasks", that is, it so happens that on weekdays there is not even twenty-five minutes for cleaning, but on weekends you cannot clean up. It's still easier for me to do a thorough cleaning once a week, and on the other days just try not to create a mess and clean everything right away. This is why I in the future I will give up this system. Write in the comments your opinion about this method, it will be very interesting for me to know your point of view.
