It is a pity that the photos do not convey the aroma of the dish and its taste. Because it is difficult to evaluate it from one view. So I'll just say - the homemade ones ate the kebab and demanded an ultimatum supplement.
And all because it turned out to be tender, juicy, nutritious and (which pleases) surprisingly easy to prepare. It can be made at any time of the year, you can - in the oven, or you can - in a pan.
At the same time, you don't need to steam with cooking.
First, I'll tell you the recipe, then I'll reveal the secret of the simplicity of that dish.
So, we need:
- Minced meat with lamb,
- Fresh parsley
- Paprika
- Chili flakes
- Green onions
- Cucumber
- Red cabbage
- Chickpea
- Citrus sauce with honey
- Zaatar spice mix
- Garam Masala Spice Blend
- Pita chips
- Parchment
Where to get all the ingredients?
I anticipate screams: so, chef, where do you suggest people look for pita chips and other strange things like garam masala or zaatar? I admit that you need to hunt for these ingredients - not every store has it. And you will hardly find minced meat with lamb.
But there is an option without combing the shops - the one that I used. Elementaree food delivery service. Their kits contain everything you need to prepare (and even eat) each dish.
All work in the kitchen will be to mix, shape and adhere to the heat treatment regimes (well, boil, bake-fry). Since failure most often happens at the stage of selecting ingredients (something was ignored, something was decided replace), but here you always have everything you need at hand, then breakfasts, lunches, dinners are guaranteed to come out delicious. Moreover, each dish is accompanied by detailed instructions on what-where-how-when.
The menu is impressive too. I will show you what I cooked myself (scroll through the carousel), and I have tried quite a few from the Elementare assortment.
An additional plus: as you noticed from the photographs, the menu includes soups, salads, main dishes, and breakfasts. For those who like to eat tasty and varied - I recommend.
So how do you prepare the kebab itself?
First, turn on the oven to heat up to 180 degrees. Then cover the baking sheet with parchment and grease the parchment with oil. While the oven is heating, mix the minced lamb, paprika, garam masala spice mixture, zaatar spice mixture and chili pepper flakes, mix well, form kebabs from this and send to the oven for 15 minutes.
While the kebabs are cooking. Let's make a side dish: cut cucumbers and cabbage, green onions, parsley, add chickpeas (I have it ready), salad dressing (I have it ready) and... voila, you can start your meal. Pita chips will go instead of bread, in a bite.
It's as simple as I promised.
