A simple recipe for cinnamon and apple buns on butter dough.

“There are never too many apples!” - said the mother-in-law and handed me another bag of apples. In our family, the main lover of apples is our son, but even he is not able to cope with so many, although he has bitten all the apples that he could find.

I had to save them. To save myself, I chose a simple cinnamon roll recipe, in which I decided to add apples. The buns turned out bombically delicious. Delicate and soft dough, juicy baked apples in cinnamon and sweet icing on top. I imagined what would happen, I almost salivated. I will not delay, let's cook!

A step-by-step recipe on how to make Cinnabon buns with apples and cinnamon

Opara

  • Warm milk 125 g
  • Warm water 45 g
  • Sugar 15 g
  • Dry yeast 6 g

I mix all the ingredients, cover with a towel and leave the dough to rise in a warm place for 10 minutes.

Dough kneading

  • Warm milk 125 g
  • Sugar 30 g
  • Flour 520 g
  • Salt 4 g
  • Butter 65 g (melted)
  • Egg 1 pc

In a kneading container, I mix the egg, sugar and butter. I add the rest of the liquid ingredients and mix.

I pour in all the flour, salt and start kneading the dough in a stationary mixer with a hook-type attachment.

The dough is ready when it stops sticking to the walls and starts to gather into a ball. I cover the container with cling film and put it away for fermentation and rise to a warm place for 45 minutes.

After this time, the dough rose more than 2 times.

I spread the dough on a work surface, dusty with flour, and roll it out into a rectangular layer ~ 0.5-0.7 cm thick. It's time to prepare the filling.

Filling

  • Sugar 200 g
  • Ground cinnamon 28 g
  • Butter 45 g
  • Apples to taste

To do this, I simply mix all the ingredients until smooth. I prepared the apples in advance using an apple cutter. It peels, de-cores and cuts the apples in a spiral. All I have to do is cut the apples in half to make thin slices.

Assembling and baking

Spread the filling evenly over the entire surface of the dough. Then I cut into strips about 3-4 cm wide.

I put apple slices on each strip, roll them into a roll and put them in a baking dish. When all the rolls are in the form, I send them to bake for 35-40 minutes at 190 ° C.

While the buns are baking, I'll make the icing. To do this, combine all the ingredients for the icing in a bowl and mix until smooth. If the icing is thick, you can add a little water or lemon juice.

When the buns are browned, I take them out of the oven and, without letting them cool, cover them with glaze.

Glaze

  • Mascarpone cheese 100 g
  • Powdered sugar 100 g
  • Juice of half a lemon

Everything can be served. My wife usually does not wait for cooling and, burning her fingers, tries to pull the cinnabon out of the mold. Let's show what a cutaway bun looks like.
