I tell and show how a digital coffee shop works.
When I found out that the Dodo Pizza company was opening a new format with coffee, I was very happy. I love Dodo, and therefore today's review will not be entirely objective. But I decided to write this review as if I were a mystery shopper, who was asked to find the maximum number of jambs in the cafe.
I would like that there were no “jambs”, but, unfortunately, there were enough of them. Hopefully my review will help the company get better. I will not drag it out, let's show you what a coffee shop looks like.
The Drinkit coffee shop is located on the territory of the business center and in order to get inside, we even had to issue a pass. This is the first coffee shop where the company plans to hone all the processes before the big start. There is a discreet sign above the entrance. It's time to look inside.
At the entrance we are greeted by a bar counter and several screens displaying a menu. The waiters are loaded with work, and no “Hello!” To you. But it doesn't matter, because I'm in a digital coffee shop, where you can place an order and pay through the app. Let's show you how to do this.
You must register before using. The process is simple and did not take me long. The main menu consists of drinks, but there are sandwiches and bars. I took a coffee and a sandwich and immediately paid for the order via Apple pay in the application. This is very convenient when you do not need to link a card. And it’s safer. While waiting, I decided to look around.
The space inside is as simple as possible. Tables and chairs designed for long-term use. In terms of design, everything looks modern, but without any frills. At first I thought I was at McDonald's, very much like that. But at McDonald's there are no crumbs and rubbish on the tables, but here the tables are dripped with coffee and crumbs. And this is not on one table, but on everyone that was nearby.
All this I could consider while waiting for my order. I only had 2 items: coffee and a sandwich with a sweet filling. But it took 15 minutes to prepare, and the coffee turned out to be warm when served, and, apparently, it was made without waiting for the sandwich to be ready. Let's show you what I ordered.
Coffee with black powder on top. It looks very nice in the application, but in reality everything is much simpler. I usually drink only Americano, but then for the sake of experiment I decided to try something new and in vain. The drink itself is delicious, just coffee with milk is not about me.
The sandwich already looks much more appetizing, but the taste has pumped up a little. I had a peanut cream, jam, nuts and banana sandwich. As a result, all the ingredients were mixed into one taste. I love peanut butter, but cream is a completely different texture and would look great in a cake, but not here. It's time to take stock.
I really enjoyed ordering coffee through the app. This is incredibly convenient, especially if you know how long it takes to prepare the drink so that you can order it on the go and pick it up from the coffee shop while still hot. But besides that, there are still many things to work on, such as cleaning tables and floors in time.
I am sure that Dodo will bring this project to mind and fix all the shortcomings. I will be happy to visit them again, especially if there will be not one, but many coffee shops.
