Here's how to make an apple pie without eggs in 15 minutes (counting baking).

Recently I asked my mother what kind of sweets she made during the Soviet era, if there were not enough products. It turned out that most often she made charlotte without eggs.

Not that the eggs were difficult to get, they just ended up unexpectedly at times. And most often, such surprises happened when she was about to bake something. For such occasions, there was a recipe for eggless charlotte in her green notebook.

I do not remember that my mother cooked it in my childhood, but it turned out that my brothers and I called this charlotte a gingerbread. I will not delay, let's cook.

Step-by-step recipe on how to make egg-free apple gingerbread

Ingredients per form 18 cm in diameter:

  • Apples 130 g (1 medium apple)
  • Sugar 115 g
  • Flour 130 g
  • Vegetable oil 60 g
  • Milk 185 g (I used oatmeal)
  • Baking powder 6 g
  • Cinnamon ½ teaspoon
  • A pinch of salt

I wash the apples and rub them on a coarse grater. I rub only the apples themselves without a core. If you want a very tender crumb, then peel the apples first.

I put it in a frying pan, add sugar and boil it for 7-8 minutes after boiling. Allow to cool completely before use.

I send the apple mass to the mixing container, first add the liquid ingredients (butter and milk) and mix.

Then I add all the dry ingredients and mix with a spatula until smooth. The dough is ready.

I spread a sheet of parchment at the bottom of the split form and pour the dough on top. I send it to bake for 40-50 minutes at a temperature of 180 ° C. I check the readiness for a dry skewer. I pierce the middle of the pie with a skewer, if it comes out dry, then the pie is ready, if not, I leave it to bake.

After baking, I let the cake cool completely and only then remove it from the mold. Sprinkle with icing sugar on top and serve. Let's show you what a cutaway looks like.

The rug turned out to be quite dense, but at the same time it is loose and soft. My wife and I ate this portion in one sitting, so it is better to immediately cook a double or even triple amount.
