I am telling you why it is necessary to read the composition of "condensed milk" (and not only) before buying and how not to become a victim of advertising tricks.
I do not go to the Traffic Light store so often and am not yet used to the fact that before buying something there, you must definitely read the composition. And that's why.
Recently I found myself in the Svetofor and remembered that I need condensed milk for the cake. I, not expecting a catch, took a can of condensed milk, without even looking at the label.
Both liquid and thick condensed milk are suitable for my cream, so I have long stopped looking at the brand. So this time, I saw a blue and white jar with the usual design and threw it into the basket.
And at home, when I opened the can, I realized that something was wrong with the condensed milk. I was surprised by the texture of condensed milk. Not visible in the photo, but it looks like a paste.
That is, condensed milk is not homogeneous and fluid, but looks more like pudding. At first I did not attach any importance to this, but before making the cream, I decided to try it. And then another surprise awaited me.
The taste was somehow not very milky. He was definitely missing something. I postponed the preparation of the cream for a while and decided to study the composition.
As soon as I started reading the composition, everything fell into place. Usually the composition of condensed milk is very simple and concise: milk, sugar and milk sugar lactose. But here the lineup was not so short.
It turned out that instead of milk fat, the manufacturer decided to add palm oil. This means that it can no longer be called condensed milk.
The design of this can of condensed milk is very similar to the usual one for condensed milk. But there is also an inscription: โcontains vegetable oilsยป. If I had studied this undercondensed milk more carefully before buying, I would never have bought it.
But I was in a hurry and fell for the usual colors of packaging and the inscription "Condensed milk". Okay, this purchase will be a reminder to me to be careful.
Do you read the composition before buying?
