What to look for when choosing a dishwasher. I tell from my own experience.
In our family, a dishwasher is an indispensable helper, especially after the birth of our son Jan, when there is no extra time to wash dishes by hand. I cook a lot for the blog, which is usually a whole mountain of dishes.
Every time I was faced with the fact that something does not fit in the dishwasher, and these are baking sheets, huge bowls, large pots and a bowl from a stationary mixer, I was thinking about buying a new dishwasher cars. The interior of our machine is good for washing ordinary dishes and cups, but not for dishes like mine, and there is no way to customize everything for yourself.
Another problem is that our car has all the controls on the front panel, and the son can easily reach them and turn on or stop the car wash.
Before going to the store, I made a list of the necessary qualities of the future car.
Here's what I need:

- simple control
- to have an economical water consumption
- spacious basket (so that even a baking sheet fits)
- plenty of space for cutlery
- good drying of dishes
After a long search on the Internet, I realized that only the machines of the Swedish brand Electrolux have the necessary functions. But before deciding for sure, I decided to go to the showroom and see them in reality.
In the showroom, I realized that it was not in vain that I came, as I was able to finally decide on the choice. And that's what influenced me.
All machines have controls on the top surface of the cover.
The control of the washing modes is intuitive. Separately, I was pleased that you can choose a convenient washing duration from 30 minutes, and the machine will select the mode itself.
If necessary, you can turn on an additional rinse or a delicate sink for thin glasses.
By the way, there are special holders for glasses in the car. The stem of the glass is fixed in a rubber clip and remains in place during washing.
For washing cutlery, the machines have separate baskets that can even hold ladles.
The cutlery basket is large and can be removed and replaced with a baking sheet from the oven. For me, as a pastry chef, this is a huge plus. Now I wash the baking sheets in the sink, and every time it's a problem, since they are large and don't fit in the sink.
In more expensive models, the lower basket slides out and rises to the level of the belt, which means you don't have to bend over to fill the machine with dishes or, conversely, unload it.
Some models have a special place for especially dirty dishes. If you turn on the ExtraPower + mode when choosing a washing mode, then the dishes will be washed more thoroughly and with a high water pressure in this place. There is a lot of space, which means dirty baking dishes or a burnt frying pan can easily fit.
In addition, dishwashers can automatically open the door by 10 centimeters after washing, so that the dishes dry faster and mold does not form inside, including mold on the sealing elastic band.
Unfortunately, I cannot use this function yet, otherwise Jan will open the machine and take out the dishes. This function can be turned off, I specifically asked the seller.
Later, when Jan grows up, I will definitely use it. After all, this function allows you to dry dishes without streaks and smudges, even on plastic, and it also does not require additional energy.
I also want to immediately dispel the myth that if the door opens, bacteria will get there. Think for yourself, then we take out the dishes with our hands, then there must be a colony of bacteria. It's time to take stock.
