I tell you how to make a base for sea buckthorn tea in 10 minutes, and then enjoy it all winter.
As a child, I adored sea buckthorn. We had several trees in our garden, and they bore such fruit that my mother made jam, compote from sea buckthorn and just froze it. Over time, my interest in this healthy berry faded.
I recently tried sea buckthorn warming tea in a cafe. I liked it so much that I decided to reproduce this recipe at home. And not just reproduce, but make a blank and freeze it.
I wanted to make it so that I could make sea buckthorn tea in 5 minutes, without a lot of fiddling in the kitchen. It is very convenient when it is cold outside in winter. I came home and after a few minutes you are already warming up with a hot drink.
The recipe I got is the base for the drink. There is almost no sugar in it, just a little, and the rest is sea buckthorn and tea. This is what I like to harvest the most. Before brewing, I can add any spices and sweeten if desired. I will not delay, let's cook!
Step-by-step recipe on how to prepare sea buckthorn tea for the winter
I wash the sea buckthorn and send it to a tall glass.
I add the rest of the ingredients and punch with a blender until smooth.
I pour the resulting mass into ice molds and put it in the freezer.
When the mass is completely frozen, I take out, transfer the bag to the ziplock and put it back into the freezer for storage.
And in winter, when I want to warm up, I take out the cubes from the refrigerator and pour boiling water over them. After 5 minutes, you can already serve it to the table.
The indicated proportion is ideal for brewing in 500 ml of boiling water.
When brewing, add cinnamon and star anise to add spice. And if you like sweeter tea, add honey to taste. Let's show what I did.
Ingredients:
- Sea buckthorn 150 g
- Black tea 7 g
- Sugar 15 g
- Boiling water 500 ml (for brewing tea)
- Optional star anise, cinnamon, honey
