As a child, I loved Nutella chocolate spread. I first tried it during perestroika, my father's sister brought it to us from Finland. Then the paste appeared on the free market and my interest in it eventually faded away.

Recently I recalled my childhood and the horror of how Nutella wanted. When I saw how much it cost, I decided that I would rather cook it myself. And so he did. The pasta turned out to be delicious, but is it cheaper than the purchased one, I'll tell you at the end of the article.

A step-by-step recipe for making Nutella chocolate spread

Ingredients:

  • Hazelnut 110 g
  • Chocolate 85% 100 g
  • White chocolate 50 g
  • Milk 200 g
  • Sugar 20 g (can be replaced with honey)
  • Powdered milk 30 g
  • A pinch of salt

I will send the fried hazelnuts to a blender and punch until they are pasty. It is important that the blender is powerful enough. I managed an 800W submersible in 3-4 minutes.

Traditionally, nutella is made from hazelnuts, but you can substitute other nuts.

I break the chocolate into small pieces and melt in a water bath. Place the remaining ingredients in a saucepan, stir and bring to a boil.

Pour the chocolate and milk mixture into the blender bowl for the nut butter. I turn on the blender and punch the mass until smooth. It took me about 3-4 minutes.

I pour the chocolate mixture into jars, cover with cling film in contact and put it in the refrigerator. It is important to be patient and wait until it cools completely, otherwise the paste will be liquid.

When the mass has cooled down, you can make toast or spread it on a slice of bread. I have homemade bread (the recipe is on the channel, I'll leave it at the end of the article).

It turned out delicious. True, it was worth punching the nut mass a little longer so that the paste was without grains of hazelnuts. Now let's calculate how much money I spent on it, and compare it with the price from the store.

Prices

I carried out the calculations at the prices of the online store, my cost of ingredients is even lower, since I buy in bulk. But for the veracity of the experiment, I decided to take public prices. I am calculating for the necessary amount of ingredients.

All the ingredients are on the table (only the chocolate is off-screen)

Hazelnut 110 rubles + chocolate 75 rubles + milk 12 rubles + sugar 0.5 rubles + milk powder 27 rubles + salt 0.1 rub. = 224.6 rubles. I got 510 g of pasta, which means 1 kg will come out in 440 rubles. A can of nutella weighing 350 g costs 409 rubles in the store.

As for me, the price decides.
