How to make healthy sweets from dates and cocoa. And to make it even tastier, let's make a sprinkle of crispy buckwheat.
Recently I tried healthy date sweets in the store. I liked them, but I really didn't like their price. The price for 1 kilogram was incredibly high. I decided to try to cook it myself.
Candy is very simple in terms of preparation, but there are some ingredients that are not always available at home. I thought for a long time how to replace the coconut cream in the composition, but I never came to an answer.
Therefore, I had to buy a whole can of coconut cream at once, but fortunately, they are stored for quite a long time after opening, so expect more recipes with coconut cream in the composition in the near future.
Step-by-step recipe for making sweets from dates and buckwheat
Ingredients:
- Dates 200 g
- Cocoa 30 g
- Buckwheat flour 30 g
- Coconut cream 60 g
- Vanilla extract 1 tsp
- Salt 1/4 tsp
Sprinkling
- Buckwheat 60 g
- Coconut oil 2 tsp
- Cocoa 1 tsp
- Cinnamon 1 tsp
Step one
Put all the ingredients for sprinkling in a preheated pan and fry for about 5-6 minutes. Due to this, buckwheat will cease to be hard and become crispy. But the main thing is not to burn the spices, so I constantly stir the sprinkles and fry over medium heat. After roasting, let the buckwheat cool completely.
Step two
I send all the ingredients for the candy mass to a blender and punch until smooth. Most importantly, do not forget to remove the seeds from the dates. Fleshy dates work best, I used royal ones.
Step three
I put the resulting date mass in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes. When the mass has cooled down, I divide it into portions with a tablespoon and roll it into balls. Choose the portion size yourself, but I do not recommend making sweets that are too large.
Step four
I roll the sweets in buckwheat sprinkles. To prevent buckwheat from crumbling, I press it a little into the surface of the candy. I put it in the refrigerator for 1 hour so that the sweets grab and keep their shape.
