You don't need to go to the store to make this cake. Most likely you have all the products in your home.
I love the "Gift" cake since childhood. This is because the godmother was constantly preparing it for my birthday.
I still remember its taste. Delicate, delicate biscuit and butter cream with condensed milk. On top, the godmother generously sprinkled the cake with roasted peanuts. It was impossible to stop at one piece.
I will tell you a step-by-step recipe on how to make this amazing “Gift” cake
Ingredients (for mold 22x32 cm):
- Eggs 5 pcs
- Sugar 1 glass
- Flour 7 rounded tablespoons
- Vanilla sugar 1 teaspoon
- Peanuts for dusting 400 g
Cream
- Butter 250 g
- Condensed milk 1 can (370-380 g)
First, I beat eggs with vanilla sugar and sugar. The mass should lighten and increase in volume. I whipped with a hand mixer, which is already 20 years old, so I spent 7-8 minutes on it.
Add the sifted flour and mix gently with a spatula. It is important to do this slowly so that the mass does not settle.
I send it to bake for 25-30 minutes at a temperature of 180 ° C. I check the readiness with a dry skewer. Let the biscuit cool down a bit and take it out of the mold.
If you have time, wrap the sponge cake in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hours. Or wait until it cools completely and you can collect the cake.
How to whip cream for a gift cake
Beat butter at room temperature with a mixer at high speed until fluffy. In 4 stages I add condensed milk and whip the cream. If you are afraid that the cream will begin to flake before making the cake read my article on how to avoid it.
How to assemble a cake “Gift”
I cut the cake lengthwise into two halves. I smear half of the cream between them. I cover the cake with the second part.
Sprinkle with pre-fried peanuts and put them in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours, or better overnight, so that the cream stabilizes. You can sprinkle the cake with powdered sugar before serving, but it is incredibly tasty anyway.
