  • Milk 125 g (½ cup)
  • Butter 42 g (3 tablespoons)
  • Sugar 21 g (1 tablespoon)
  • Dry yeast 9 g (slightly less than 1 sachet)
  • Salt 8 g (1 ½ teaspoons)
Cover the dough for toaster bread with a towel and leave for 10-15 minutes

I mix water and milk in a bowl and send it to the microwave for 30 seconds. It is not necessary to heat too much, the liquid should be approximately 37-38 ° C. Add yeast, stir, cover with a towel and leave the dough to rise for 10-15 minutes.

In the mixer bowl, I mix all the dry ingredients. When the dough has risen, I add it to the flour and begin to knead the dough. When using a stand mixer, I use a hook attachment.

It took me 2-3 minutes to knead the dough at medium mixer speed. If you knead the dough with your hands, it will take 2 times longer. When the dough has gathered on the hook, add room temperature butter and mix with a mixer until combined.

I form the dough into a ball, cover with cling film and put it in a cold oven for 1-1.5 hours for fermentation. The finished dough should increase in volume 2-3 times.

I roll the fermented dough into a layer according to the size of the mold. I roll the dough into a roll and put it in a greased form. Cover with the same form and leave for 45 minutes to proof.

After proofing, the dough should double in size and “crawl out” outside the mold. I send it to bake in an oven preheated to 175 ° C for 40 minutes. I check the readiness by the golden brown crust.
