When I saw this recipe, at first I thought that nothing good would come of it. But curiosity got the better of it and decided to give it a try. I did not expect that the pancakes would turn out delicious and I cooked just one portion, but in vain.
My wife and I ate half the portion in one sitting. The rest took on a visit to their relatives, where after my words “but these pancakes on beer”, they disappeared, as if they did not exist at all.
Step-by-step recipe on how to cook beer pancakes
Ingredients:
- Eggs 4 pcs
- Any beer 300 g
- Sour cream 20% 400 g
- Flour 400 g
- Vegetable oil 40 g
- Soda 10 g
- Sugar 80 g
- Salt 20 g
- Boiling water 450 g
Beat eggs with a mixer with sugar and salt until foam appears. Add sour cream and mix until smooth.
I sift the flour along with the soda and stir at a low mixer speed, at high speed the flour will scatter throughout the kitchen. When all the lumps have dissolved, I pour in the beer, continuing to beat.
At the end, I pour in all the boiling water and vegetable oil at once. Beat the dough until smooth and you can start baking right away.
By the way, while I was writing the article, I decided to learn how to write correctly: bake pancakes or fry. It turned out that it is right to bake pancakes, and all because pancakes in Russia were previously cooked in the oven, hence the expression.
I put the pan on high heat and leave it for 5 minutes to warm up well. I fry, or rather bake, pancakes on almost maximum heat (I have an induction cooker and a maximum of 9 points, I cook at 8).
Pour a ladle of dough into the pan and immediately spread it over the entire surface. Literally in 10-15 seconds I turn over and bake for another 5-10 seconds.
The pancakes are dark, yet the beer was dark, and with a beautiful blush. I have not tried such pancakes yet and the taste surprised me. They are both sweet and salty, and there is a pleasant bitterness from the dark beer.
