I went to a small market in the suburbs. I tell you how much the fruit is there and what I didn't like

I compared the prices for fruits from a small market near Moscow with prices in ordinary and expensive supermarkets. The result surprised me.

I stopped going to the local market a long time ago. Last time was in winter. I then remembered that the prices there were unrealistically high. Now summer and everywhere fruits and vegetables are inexpensive. But, as it turned out, not in this market.

The most amazing thing is that the market does not look so hot. The building is unremarkable, except for the strange curly windows. When I went there for the first time, I did not expect the prices to be at the level of premium stores.

I will not be unfounded, let me show you how much.

And these are not imported peaches, but ours, Crimean ones. But the price of them seemed to be transported by plane from Australia. I wonder if peaches grow there?

And here are Armenian apricots. Even in the photo you can see that they are not ripe yet.

If you think that I pull out only the most expensive positions, here is a general photo for you, you can zoom in and see how much cherries cost.

Maybe this market is some kind of unique? Tell us in the comments what prices you have in the markets.

I asked the saleswomen why such prices. The answer surprised me. It turns out that they sort out all the vegetables and fruits before displaying them in the window, and throw out the substandard.

It is, of course, great that they have everything extremely fresh and ripe, but in the supermarket I can only choose what I like. By the way, I decided to compare prices and went to Miratorg, this is the most expensive supermarket in our city.

Here are the peaches, they look good and the price is adequate.

But next to it there are cherries, maybe not as big as on the market, but the price is 2 times lower. No, I don’t want to say that the cheaper the better, but the market price is not the market price at all.

Even in Azbuka Vkusa (one of the expensive stores in Moscow), prices for the same products are lower. Scroll to the side to see.

When I left the market, I thought about it. If I came to this shop to buy fruit, how much would I spend. Now in the summer I usually buy peaches, cherries, nectarines, apricots, bananas and oranges (I don’t buy berries, they come free from my mother-in-law’s garden).

On average, I take 1 kilogram, and this is enough for 3-4 days. In the store I spend about a thousand rubles on this. And in this market, such a purchase would come out in the region of 3000 rubles. So much for the market prices.
