Herring recipe in Dutch

Ingredients:

2 herring (fresh-frozen);
2 medium onions;
6 teaspoons of sugar;
6 teaspoons of salt;
1 carrot;
10 laurel leaves;
10-15 peas black pepper;
1-2 half-liter cans.

Preparation:

Step 1

SPLIT herring: it is necessary to cut off the head and tail, remove the skin and bones. Prepared fillets cut into large pieces.

Onions should be cut into rings, lemon - slices (straight from the peel), and carrots - circles or strips.


At the bottom of the net banks put some onions, carrots and a lemon drop, a couple of peppercorns, and bay leaf.

And on top, the next layer - a little fish with a pinch of salt and half a spoon of sugar.

step 3

Continue so layer after layer, alternating herring and vegetables and spices. It is better if the last (upper) "floor" will be carrots and a couple of slices of lemon.
You can now close the jar and send it in the refrigerator for 3-4 days.

During this time, try not to open the bank, but be sure to turn over her twice a day.
