Pork stew with potatoes turns out to be so appetizing that all households will want to try it, and even more than one portion. Flavors and aromas of all ingredients are harmoniously intertwined in the dish, so it seems as if it is already impossible to improve it! But it should be remembered that pork is cooked longer than other products - stews are simmered on minimal heat for a long time without stirring, just adding water or broth.

It is advisable to use potatoes of dense varieties so that they do not turn into mashed potatoes over a long cooking time. Ground paprika adds color to the dish, especially if it was slightly smoked during the drying process.

Ingredients:

Pork - 500 g

Potatoes - 5 pcs.

Bulb onions - 1 pc.

Carrots - 1 pc.

Tomatoes - 3 pcs.

Vegetable oil - 40 ml

Ground paprika - 0.5 tsp

Broth - 0.5 l

Bay leaf - 1 pc.

Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Garlic - 2 cloves

Preparation:

1. Pick up pork with a greasy layer. The greater the layer of lard on the meat, the less vegetable oil should be added to fry it - the lard will melt when heated. Rinse the pork, cut off the films and veins, cut into portions. The smaller they are, the faster the dish will cook.

2. Pour vegetable oil into a cauldron or saucepan with a non-stick bottom, place the container on the stove, turning on medium heat, and put the sliced ​​pork into it. Fry for about 8-10 minutes until golden brown, so that the meat releases the juice and it evaporates.

3. Peel the onion and carrots, rinse and chop: onions - in half rings, carrots - in slices or cubes. Add to the container and fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring.

4. Peel potato tubers, rinse and cut into wedges. Add to the rest of the cuts.

5. Pour in broth or hot water so that the liquid slightly covers the contents of the container.

6. Season with salt and pepper. Cover the container with a lid and simmer on medium heat for about 25 minutes.

7. Put the tomatoes in boiling water, putting them in a bowl, then peel them and put the pulp in a dish. Add ground paprika and press a couple of garlic cloves.

8. Simmer for another 5 minutes. A couple of minutes before the end of cooking, you can add chopped parsley or dill, if desired.

Place the cooked stew on a plate or dish and serve hot. It is especially delicious with pickled / pickled cucumbers, tomatoes or squash!
