A fairly simple version of porridge that can be cooked quickly and without much hassle is rice with carrots and onions in a pan. You will need simple vegetables that are always on hand. You can choose any rice, I like regular steamed rice - it always turns out to be delicious, crumbly.

Since we will cook in a pan, the process will be even easier from this, the main thing is not to miss the moment when the porridge is ready. In the future, in addition to the base, you can always add other foods to rice, meat or poultry, etc.

You can serve the dish with fresh vegetables, it will be very tasty with homemade pickles or hearty salads.

Ingredients:

Rice - 1 glass

Water or broth - 2 cups

Carrots - 1 pc.

Bulb onions - 1 pc.

Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.

Salt, pepper - to taste

Process description:

1. Prepare all the required ingredients according to the list.

2. Choose a fairly large onion, peel and rinse, dry. In this recipe, the more vegetables, the tastier the result will be. Cut the peeled onions into cubes or strips as you like.

3. Peel the carrots and grate on a medium grater. If desired, it can be cut into cubes or plates.

4. Heat a little vegetable oil in a frying pan, put the prepared carrots and onions into it. Simmer vegetables for a few minutes, they should not fry and dry, but only slightly sauté. Add some garlic if desired.

5. Now pour a glass of prepared cereals into the pan. It is not necessary to use parboiled rice, the most ordinary one will do, or, on the contrary, you can even take brown rice.

6. Heat clean filtered water in a kettle, pour two glasses into the pan. It can be replaced with broth - vegetable, mushroom, chicken, etc. Pour in some salt and pepper to taste, mix all the ingredients, cover. Minimize the heat on the stove, cook the dish for about 15 minutes.

7. After a while, put the rice with onions and carrots on plates and serve.
