Let's prepare excellent meatballs with gravy in a pan today for lunch or dinner - it's quick, simple, affordable and tasty, and most importantly, hearty and nutritious. We will do without unnecessary frying in the recipe, we will not make the meat balls too heavy.
I would also like to note the choice of meat: in my version there is a more dietary version - a mixture of turkey and chicken fillets in the same proportion. If you like more fatty meats, go for pork. Among other things, add some spices and tomato sauce to the dish.
Ingredients:
Minced meat (chicken + turkey) - 300 g
Rice - 0.5 cups
Bulb onions - 1 pc.
Garlic - 2 cloves
Salt, pepper - to taste
Paprika - 1/3 tsp
Vegetable oil - 1 tbsp.
Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons
Water - 1.5 cups
Bay leaf, allspice peas - to taste
Description:
1. Prepare the entire range of required ingredients. It is preferable to make minced meat yourself to be sure of the composition and quality. Any rice can be purchased, I like parboiled long.
2. Peel a large onion, rinse and dry. Chop the onion into cubes, or you can punch the slices in a blender bowl to make a gruel - in this version, the meat balls will be juicier, but the taste of the onions will be felt brighter.
3. In a deep bowl, combine the minced meat and rice grits. Pre-boil the rice - use one and a half portion of water per serving of cereals. As a result, he should be "on the tooth".
4. Add salt and pepper, paprika to a bowl with ingredients, add onions and mix thoroughly. Add the garlic cloves skipped on the press.
5. Form medium-sized meatballs.
6. Transfer them to a lightly oiled frying pan, pour in the tomato sauce (mix warm water and a portion of tomato paste in advance), if desired, add herbs and spices to the gravy. Throw laurel and allspice into the pan for a spicy note of the dish. Cover the container with a lid and simmer the minced meatballs with rice for half an hour over low heat.
Serve this version of meatballs with gravy with different side dishes, pickles, fresh vegetables, herbs.
Bon Appetit!
