Meatballs are small balls made from minced meat or fish. They are often added to soups. But there are more options. For example, today I will tell you how to cook stewed meatballs in tomato sauce in a pan. The dish is gorgeous, I am sure that many will like it.
Ingredients:
Minced meat - 0.5 kg.
Bulb onions - 1 pc.
Egg - 1 pc.
Salt, black pepper - to taste
Flour - 3 tablespoons
Sugar - 0.5 tsp
Tomato paste - 1 tablespoon
Water - 250 ml.
Bay leaf - 2 pcs.
Black or allspice peas - 3 pcs.
Vegetable oil - 50 ml.
Step by step recipe:
1. Prepare the required set of products. Prepare minced meat yourself by twisting a piece of meat through a meat grinder. So you will be sure of its quality. Choose fresh meat that has not been frozen. Beef, pork, or chicken will work great for this recipe.
2. Chop the onion by passing it through a meat grinder or finely chopping it with a knife. Add to minced meat.
3. Beat in an egg, salt and pepper to taste.
4. Now carefully, sparing no effort and time, beat off the minced meat, throwing it on the bottom of the bowl. Continue this procedure until the mass is viscous and smooth.
5. Wet your hands in cold water and shape the minced meat into small balls. Pour flour into a flat bowl, in order to avoid debris, it is better to sift it. Roll the blanks in it. Fry them for 2 minutes on each side in a well-heated skillet with vegetable oil. If the diameter of the container does not allow you to do this with all the meat balls at the same time, fry them in small portions.
6. Prepare food for the sauce.
7. Combine tomato paste and water in a small container. Since the pasta itself is very sour, add a little sugar, salt and black pepper. Stir well.
8. Add bay leaf to the fried meatballs in the pan.
9. Then fill them with the prepared sauce. Cover and wait for it to boil. Then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
10. The meatballs in tomato sauce are ready.
Serve them hot with any side dish - rice, mashed potatoes, buckwheat or pasta. Be sure to sprinkle the sauce generously.
