Lavash has a short shelf life, but if you keep it in the refrigerator, you can thus preserve its properties for several days longer. Having a couple of lavash sheets “on hand” is very helpful in preparing a quick snack, party or organizing snacks for unexpected guests.

This version of the Armenian lavash with cheese is a universal culinary “product” that can be presented in several “genres”. It can be a main course, very similar in taste to lasagne. This is one of the possible fast food options that you can take for a snack, picnic or on the road. And also serve as a snack, for example, at a youth party.

Ingredients:

Lavash - 2 pcs.

Hard cheese - 200 g

Chicken egg - 2 pcs.

Tomato paste - 1 tbsp l.

Dried oregano - 0.33 tsp l.

Dried marjoram - 0.25 tsp l.

Dried basil - 0.33 tsp l.

Dried rosemary - 0.25 tsp l.

Dried thyme - 0.25 tsp l.

Dried mint - 0.20 tsp l.

Ground pepper mixture - 0.5 tsp l.

Additionally:

Chicken egg - 1 pc.

Sesame - 1 tbsp l.

Preparation:

Step 1: Prepare the required set of ingredients. Instead of the proposed mixture of dry herbs, you can use ready-made factory sets (Provencal or Italian) offered in supermarkets (1 tsp. l.).

Step 2: Beat with a whisk, you can also use a fork, chicken eggs with tomato paste until smooth. Add a mixture of ground peppers and a set of dry herbs to the resulting cocktail: oregano, marjoram, basil, rosemary, thyme and mint. To stir thoroughly.

Step 3: Grate hard or semi-hard cheese with medium-sized teeth. It is preferable, of course, to take such that it not only melts well, but also retains its taste after heat treatment. A little cheese shavings can be left to sprinkle on the rolls.

Step 4: Cut each pita bread in half in length and in width into equal parts so that 4 identical sheets come out.

Step 5: Grease the resulting thin pita leaf with egg-tomato spicy sauce (about 1.5-2 tbsp. l.), not forgetting about the edges, evenly spread the grated cheese over the entire surface. Wrap a little from the sides (1.5 cm) and then roll it up, but not too tightly. Thus, arrange all 8 sheets sequentially one after another.

Step 6: Place the blanks on a frying sheet so that the end of the roll is at the bottom. Gently flatten them. Brush with a chicken egg, shaking it first. Sprinkle with the cheese shavings left before, then sesame seeds.

Step 7: Preheat the oven to 200 degrees and bake the rolls until a beautiful blush for 5-10 minutes. Medium blush will taste very similar to lasagna, but brown stronger will crunch and resemble spicy cheese chips.

Step 8: Ready-made pita bread with cheese can be served as fast food "things" with your favorite drinks (tea, coffee, juices, water) or as a main course, supplemented with sliced ​​fresh vegetables. Bell peppers, meaty tomatoes, and cucumbers are good options.
