Scientists, having studied many fish breeds, their properties, usefulness for the body, came to the conclusion that herring is an ideal fish in all respects. It can be used for everyday use.

What did the scientists find out?

And these are not unfounded conclusions. The scientists who conducted the research gathered a group of volunteers who needed to consume a small amount of this fish daily. At the end of the study, the results of the "experimental" were summed up before and after the experiment.

Among the main changes was an increase in the level of good cholesterol in the blood, which increases the elasticity of blood vessels. This means that the risk of atherosclerosis and other diseases of the cardiovascular system is reduced.

Another important benefit is herring fat. Due to its presence, active fat cells in the body are suppressed. This is our body's main defense against type 2 diabetes.

A simple pickled herring recipe

This is a Dutch cooking recipe. But it is known that in this country hundreds of delicious dishes are made from herring.

For cooking you will need:

  • 2 pcs. fresh fish;
  • 2 onion heads;
  • 1 small carrot;
  • 1 lemon;
  • 50 g sugar;
  • 10 pieces. laurel;
  • 10 black peppercorns.

The preparation is simple:

  • First, gut the fish, cut off the head, tails, clean the scales, separate the fillets from the ridge and try to pull out all the bones. Cut the herring into small pieces.

  • Crush pepper in a mortar and mix with sugar.
  • In a glass jar, place a quarter of the onion, 2 bay leaves, 1 part each of carrots, herring, lemon and a mixture of pepper and sugar. Repeat the procedure 3-4 more times until you run out of ingredients. Tamp everything, close the lid and send it to the refrigerator for 3-4 days.
Serve ready-made herring better with boiled or baked potatoes.
