Raffaello with crab sticks and cheese

An unusual and cute cold appetizer for snacks, buffets, parties, a hospitable festive table - savory balls, outwardly similar to the well-known Rafaello sweets. But in this version, an equally popular Jewish / garlic salad is hidden under a layer of fluffy shavings of crab sticks. Recipe from the category of "cheap and cheerful", worthy of celebrating the New Year.

Ingredients:

Crab sticks - 5 pcs.

Processed cheese - 90 g

Eggs - 2 pcs.

Mayonnaise - 2 tbsp l.

Garlic - 1 tooth

Salt, hot pepper - to taste

Step by step recipe:

Step 1 - To make a Raffaello garlic spread at home, you need the ingredients listed. Choose thick mayonnaise. Boil eggs in advance, cool, remove the shell. Processed cheese can be anything: with added ham, with herbs, mushrooms or creamy - at your discretion. Freeze crab sticks, icy and hard ones are easier to rub with shavings. Improvise with the stuffing! Imitating candies with almonds, olives, capers, pieces of crab sticks are put inside the snack.

Step 2 - Thin shavings three blocks of processed cheese. Mine is creamy. Sometimes it is cooked with soft, for example, with Feta. The main thing is a sticky, plastic and sculptable consistency. Grind two hard-boiled eggs in the same size. For spiciness, pass one garlic clove through the press.

Step 3 - Season with mayonnaise, ground black pepper, and a pinch of salt if necessary. Mix well, grease all layers. We try, adjust the amount of spices, garlic, mayonnaise sauce. We get a viscous mass, a full-fledged snack-spread in itself.

Step 4 - Remove the shell and three crab sticks with the same thin shavings - it looks so much like coconut, like in Raffaello sweets.

Step 5 - With wet hands, pinch off a small portion of the garlic-cheese mixture, form cakes, put a piece of a stick or other filling in the middle.

Step 6 - Roll into balls of the same size, breaded thickly in crab shavings. Sprinkle and roll from all sides. We transfer the appetizer from crab sticks and cream cheese to a clean plate or board, if desired, we put it in a corrugated paper candy box.

Before serving, we keep Raffaello from crab sticks and cheese on the refrigerator shelf.
