Braised pork with vegetables in a pan

Braised pork is a simple yet delicious dish. Love and cook such meat in many families. And today I will tell you how I do it. At first glance, there is nothing special in this recipe - a simple set of ingredients, common spices. But there is one caveat - we will fry and stew the pork directly in the pan. And this is no accident. During frying, meat and vegetables lose some of their juices and aromas, and with them the beneficial substances. But if we initially cook in one dish, all of the aforementioned usefulness will end up in the dish. By this principle, you can cook not only pork, but also other types of meat. I recommend trying it!

Ingredients:

Pork - 500 g.

Carrots - 1 pc.

Bulb onions - 1 pc.

Flour - 1 tbsp.

Salt to taste

Ground black pepper - to taste

Seasoning for meat - 1 tsp

Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons

Water - 300 ml.

Step by step recipe:

1. Prepare a set of ingredients to cook braised pork with onions and carrots in a pan.

2. Choose fresh meat with layers of fat so that it remains juicy as a result. Rinse it under running water, dry it and cut into portions. Heat the frying pan with butter as much as possible and lay out the meat.

3. Fry it very quickly until golden brown. This "shock" treatment ensures that all the juices remain inside, and the meat crust does not allow them to flow out.

4. Peel vegetables. Cut the onion into half rings, and the carrots into cubes. Place on top of the pork.

5. Reduce heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.

6. To make the liquid in which the pork will be stewed, to acquire the consistency of a sauce and become thicker, add flour. Season with salt, pepper and season. Cook for 1 minute while stirring.

7. Then pour in the liquid, it can be meat broth or plain water. Bring the contents of the skillet to a boil and simmer for 30-40 minutes.

8. The dish can be considered ready if the meat is easily pierced with a knife or fork.

Serve hot pork stew with vegetables and gravy in a skillet. Any side dish will suit it, but the best, in my opinion, mashed potatoes.
