To make blackcurrant fruit drink at home, take the products from the list. The concentration of the drink is easy to change. By increasing the volume of water and decreasing the amount of berries, you will get a fruit drink with less saturation. And vice versa. In my recipe for black currant, there is a lot of water for one liter of water, the liquid is not only colored to a deep dark shade, but also saturated with aroma, acid in full. Feel free to vary the proportions.
We wash fresh or frozen black currants before cooking, remove possible branches, leaves and other debris. We take freezing immediately, without thawing - we act promptly.
Simultaneously, we boil the required volume of water for the future fruit drink.
We transfer clean berries to a cooking container, add granulated sugar. How much sugar to add, decide for yourself. This berry is very acidic, it all depends on your personal preference.
Knead to form juice and get more aroma, taste and benefits when steaming. You can add honey for sweetness, but at the very end, having already removed the fruit drink from the fire.
We transfer the ladle with berry gruel to the stove, fill it with freshly boiled water. We stir, dissolve the remaining sugar.
We let it boil again and immediately put it aside - we do not cook, as usual compote, just steam and insist. Install the lid or plate, keep the fruit drink covered for about 15-20 minutes and cool at the same time.
After that, pouring into portioned containers, filter through a fine sieve, remove the cake. By the way, the remaining cake can be steamed again, with a second portion of boiling water - the currant berries will give a lot more.
