I have already discovered this recipe for cooking beets for a long time. Such beets will replace any side dish or snack. It turns out very tasty, but fragrant like, mmm ...

Even my husband, who is indifferent to beets, asks to cook it according to this recipe more often.

The taste of beets is original and very interesting. When baked or boiled, this taste cannot be achieved. The recipe is very simple and convenient. A neighbor told me this recipe. For which many thanks to her.

By the way, so few people cook beets, but in vain. Usually everything is just boiled or baked, and only then they make some kind of dish. Everything is easier for me.

Step-by-step recipe for making beets with a photo:

I peel a couple of onions and chop them finely. I transfer it to a deep plate and set it aside for now.

I clean the beets and cut them into cubes. First, I cut the beets into circles, then I cut them in half and cut them into cubes.

I always clean beets with gloves, otherwise it’s hard to wash my hands. And I usually take an old cutting board and cover it with baking paper.

I heat up a frying pan with two tablespoons of vegetable oil and spread the beets. I will cook beets in a frying pan - it is very convenient.

I fill the beets with clean cold water, cover and cook for 20 minutes over low heat. During this time, I will mix once or twice.

Then add onions, salt and pepper to taste.

I also add bay leaf, three allspice peas and three cloves. What a surprise it was to me that cloves are simply created for beets, they give a special flavor! How I like him.

I mix everything and cook under the lid until the beets are fully cooked over low heat. It took me another 30 minutes.

Cooking time depends on the type of beet and the size of the cubes. The less, the faster it will cook.

The beets are ready. An indescribable aroma…. If you haven't cooked beets like that, I highly recommend it. By the way, the bow is not felt at all, and it is not even visible. Bon Appetit!

  • 100 ml. clean water.
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil.
