Ingredients:
Pork - 600 g
Potatoes - 1 kg
Carrots - 80 g
Bulb onions - 1 pc.
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper - to taste
Condiments and spices - optional
Garlic - 2 cloves
Dill - 4 branches
Lean oil - 1 tablespoon
How to cook:
Prepare foods on the list. Peel onions, garlic, carrots and potatoes, wash with dill under running water.
Take the meat with small greasy splashes. Wash it, dry it, cut off the veins and excess fat, if any.
Heat some lean refined oil in a skillet. Put pork chopped into large pieces in it, quickly fry it on all sides until golden brown.
Transfer the meat to a heavy-bottomed saucepan or cauldron, and in the same oil, throw onions cut into half rings and carrots in large pieces. Let the vegetables brown for a few minutes.
Pour the pieces of pork with a small amount of boiled water from the kettle, so much so that it slightly covers them. Put the meat on a low heat for 25 minutes.
After a while, transfer the fried vegetables to a saucepan and simmer them with pork for another 5 minutes.
Cut the potatoes lengthwise into quarters or just in large pieces, put in a saucepan, add water, again, so that it barely covers the potato slices. Cover with a lid, put on a low heat for 15 minutes.
After a while, season with salt and pepper to your liking. Add crushed garlic and your favorite seasonings. I prefer a couple of bay leaves. Stir the dish very gently, try not to break the potato pieces. Simmer for another 5 minutes.
Pierce the potatoes with a knife or fork. If it is ready, then add chopped fresh herbs to the last one, turn off the stove immediately. Place the lid on the pot and let the cooked dish sit for a few minutes before serving.
Divide the pork stew into portions, pour generously with the gravy, and serve as a separate meal for the family at lunch.
