Many people in vain underestimate the taste and nutritional value of corn porridge with milk, because such a dish is very satisfying and healthy, especially if it is served for breakfast for family and friends. Kids love it very much with sugar or honey, jam or jam, and adults prefer to eat it salty.

The density of the dish depends on your taste: you can create a thin porridge by adding a little cornmeal, or you can prepare a thick one, which, when laid out on a plate, will remain in the same shape as the container in which it is cooked. In the second option, you will have to cut it with a knife. Either way, use cornmeal, not cereal!

Buy milk of any kind and fat content. Many cooks advise adding cornmeal to boiling milk, but it is best to mix it with with a small amount of liquid, and then pour the resulting mass into a boiling composition so that there is no lumps.

Corn flour - 0.5 tbsp.

Salt - 2 pinches

Flower honey - 1 tbsp.

Pour milk of any fat content into a saucepan or cauldron, a ladle with a non-stick bottom. Place the container on the stove with medium heat.

There is no need to warm milk in advance! By the way, if you wish, you can add a little butter / vegetable oil, such as olive oil, or lard. At the same stage, granulated sugar is added if honey is replaced with it.

Pour the pre-sifted finely ground cornmeal into a container while the milk is still warm.

Gently whisk the flour into the liquid, but don't whisk! Just stir in in a circular motion so that no lumps form. While continuing to stir, bring the contents of the container to a near boil and reduce the heat to minimum.

Cook the corn porridge for about 3-5 minutes until the required thickness. Remember that such porridge as semolina, gets much thicker over time. Therefore, if you want to get a liquid one, turn off the heat and put it in plates or bowls.

In any case, you will have to cook the cornmeal porridge several times before you find the optimal consistency for the dish.

When serving, add flower honey and garnish with fresh berries or mint leaves.
