Stuffed cabbage rolls with minced meat and rice in the oven

Everyone knows the famous dish called "Cabbage rolls". But not all young housewives dare to cook them, thinking that it is very difficult and time-consuming. However, this is not the case. The fillings for them are quite diverse: meat, mushroom, fish, vegetable. The packing for the filling is cabbage leaves. The thinner and softer the cabbage leaf, the more tender the dish will be. The most popular stuffed cabbage rolls stuffed with minced meat and rice are on the agenda.

Ingredients:

Onions - 200 grams

Mixed minced meat - 1 kg.

Rice - 0.5 cups

Cabbage - 1 fork

Tomato paste - 2 tablespoons

Sour cream - 200 grams

Water - 1 glass

Salt - 1 tsp

A mixture of ground peppers - 0.5 tsp

Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons

Course of action:

1. Prepare the required foods. It is advisable to cook minced meat yourself from pork and beef, taken in equal quantities.

2. Pour boiling water over the rice. After the water has cooled, rinse under running water.

3. Boil water in a saucepan and immerse the whole cabbage in it, stump side down. Turn the head of cabbage after 3 minutes.

Cabbage should be medium in size, it is better if these are early varieties of green color.

4. To prepare the filling in a cup, mix the minced meat, onion, rice.

5. Salt the mass, add a mixture of ground peppers and mix well.

6. Separate the softened leaves by cutting them with a knife from the side of the head of cabbage.

If they are tough and break on separation, keep the cabbage in hot water for a while.

Cut off the thickened areas of the leaves with a knife.

7. Place a portion of the minced meat on the side of the top of the cabbage leaf.

8. Wrap the top and sides over the filling. Roll up cabbage rolls. Cut off the remaining edge of the sheet with a knife.

9. So use up all the minced meat.

10. From this number of products, about 16-17 cabbage rolls come out. Some can be folded into a plastic bag and frozen for future use.

11. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry cabbage rolls until golden brown on each side for 3-4 minutes.

12. Place them in a baking dish and pour over the sauce made from sour cream, tomato paste and water. Add salt, spices, bay leaf to the sauce to taste.

13. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 40 minutes. It is advisable to cover the form with foil for the first 30 minutes.

Serve hot with sour cream and herbs.
