You don't need to have dairy products in the fridge to make delicious, thin pancakes. The dough can also be "hammered" in water. According to this recipe, pancakes are no worse than in the standard version. Add the egg and sugar to the dough so that they still acquire a golden color during frying.
Pancakes can be served with a variety of sweet toppings or wrapped around the filling. Since their structure is very elastic, it will be quite easy to do this. I recommend trying it!
Ingredients:
Water - 1.5 cups
Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Salt - a pinch
Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon
Chicken egg - 1 pc.
Wheat flour - 1 glass
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Step by step recipe:
To make pancakes without milk, prepare the ingredients according to the recipe list.
In a bowl suitable for kneading, pour the required amount of warm water, add sugar, a pinch of salt and an egg.
Place carefully. For these purposes, you can use a mixer or use a regular whisk. The main thing is that all the crystals dissolve, and the egg is combined with the liquid. Adjust the amount of sugar to your liking, if you like it sweeter - add a little more.
Then pour in vegetable oil and add sifted wheat flour in portions along with baking powder.
Stir the dough until smooth. Make sure there are no flour lumps. Leave the pancake dough at room temperature for 15-20 minutes, covering the bowl with a towel or cling film.
Grease a hot frying pan with a thin layer of vegetable oil (we do this only before frying the first pancake, you do not need to grease in the future). Using a ladle, scoop up some dough and pour it into the pan, then distribute it evenly along the bottom, tilting the container in different directions.
When you see that the surface of the pancake is completely dry, and the edges begin to acquire a golden color, turn it over to the other side and cook for about a minute more. Use the whole dough in this way.
Delicious pancakes from water dough are ready.
