Every housewife knows how difficult it can be to wipe old greasy stains from kitchen surfaces. It is especially difficult to get rid of them if a special detergent has run out. But do not worry - many "home" remedies clean them as well. The main thing is to choose the right option for your kitchen.
Cleaning of MDF products
Kitchens made of this material require careful handling, as they are easily damaged.
Mustard
It is enough to prepare a mushy mixture of warm water and dry mustard, apply it to problem areas and remove the remnants with a soft cloth. Even old stains can be removed in this way.
Ammonia
A remedy known to our grandmothers. When working with MDF, it is absolutely safe.
Instructions:
- Dilute with 1 tsp. ammonia in 1 liter of water, pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
- Moisten the surface with liquid.
- Remove dirt with a dry cloth.
The main thing is not to use this method for glossy kitchens, since ugly stains can remain from the ammonia.
How to remove stains from wood surfaces?
Cleaning wooden surfaces is also very simple - you need the most basic products.
Butter with soda
A mixture of their baking soda and vegetable oil will help remove the most difficult dirt. It is enough to mix oil and soda in a ratio of 1: 2, grease all contaminated areas with a mass, wash off with a damp cloth after 15 minutes.
Baking powder for the dough
Surprisingly, this product works as well as any detergent.
Instructions:
- Mix baking powder with water until a gruel is obtained.
- Apply to surfaces and wipe with a damp cloth.
Plastic Kitchen Cleaners
Plastic is a delicate material, therefore it requires careful handling.
Using unsuitable products can leave scratches on the surface.
Soap
The safest option for cleaning kitchen plastic surfaces. Moreover, it is advisable to use baby soap, since it contains no components that can leave damage on the plastic. It is more convenient to use liquid soap.
Instructions:
- Dissolve the soap shavings in warm water to create a lather.
- Apply the composition to the dirt and leave for a couple of minutes.
- Rinse off and wipe with a dry cloth.
Lemon water
Thanks to the acid in lemon, even the oldest dirt can be removed. It is enough to mix 1 tbsp. lemon juice in 200 ml of water, wipe oily surfaces with the resulting liquid and wipe with a dry soft cloth.
If you wipe kitchen surfaces with this composition several times a week, you can preserve the gloss of the plastic for a longer period.
Laminated surfaces
For such surfaces, you cannot use:
- abrasive agents (soda, salt, etc.,), which can leave damage on the surface);
- aqueous solutions (soap-based), as they can lead to flaking of the varnish layer.
Baking powder for the dough will also help here - it is diluted with water, applied to oily areas and removed with a damp cloth.
If you are afraid of how this composition will work, it is better to use any purchased product. The main thing is not to rub the dirt, but to apply the composition on it, wait, and then gently rinse it off.
Anti-streak melamine sponge
A melamine sponge works well for cleaning most surfaces. It is enough just to moisten it, wipe the surfaces and remove the remnants with a soft cloth.
And so that there are no problems with removing old greasy stains, try to remove them immediately - in most cases, just wipe the surface with a damp sponge.
