Barley with mushrooms in a slow cooker

Admin

Barley is one of the most nutritious and healthy cereals. It is not for nothing that dishes from it are present in large quantities on the menu of military units, kindergartens, schools and hospitals. Indeed, for very little money, we get nourishing and vitamin-filled food. But there are also contraindications: such food is not recommended for people with gluten intolerance and for children under one year old.

The name "pearl" comes from the old Russian word "pearl", which means "river pearl". After all, if you look closely, cereal grains are very similar to small pearls.

Technology is advancing, and a variety of cooking tools appear to help us. And today we will use a multicooker, which will help save our time and, of course, will reduce the amount of dirty dishes, and will also help to do without the preliminary long soaking of cereals.

Barley with mushrooms in a slow cooker turns out to be lean, but satisfying and completely self-sufficient. Therefore, this porridge is great for a family lunch or dinner. By the way, it can be served as a side dish for meat or poultry.

Prepare all food. In summer and autumn, champignons can be replaced with fresh seasonal mushrooms, which will fill the porridge with a unique aroma.

Pay special attention to the choice of cereals. Pearl barley in cardboard boxes is preferable, because during storage, it gives off moisture, and condensation appears in cellophane. There should be no droplets inside the bag! The presence of various impurities in the package is also excluded, the kernels must be clean and even.
