How glad I am that I have found such a simple recipe for making cabbage. I have been cooking this way for several years in a row and I am very satisfied. I like everyone who would not try my cabbage. And when they find out how easy it is to prepare, they include this dish in their regular diet. Usually all cabbage is simply fried or stewed, but this is not how it is cooked.
Such baked cabbage is very healthy, tasty and requires very little effort to prepare. I even cut a head of cabbage for this dish in 20 seconds. Here's how I do it in more detail. (this method caused a lot of comments and controversy).

First, I take a head of cabbage and cut it in half.
I put one half with the cut side down and cut first along, and then reproach. Small is not necessary. For this dish, the cabbage must be cut fairly coarsely. Shredding is certainly not necessary.
Transfer the cabbage to a baking dish. I have a glass form.
Finely chop the onion.
I add the onion to the cabbage.
I add spices. I take sweet paprika and a mixture of Caucasian herbs. Caucasian herbs can be replaced with basil, dill, parsley, Italian herbs, Provencal, etc. Take whatever spices you like.
I really like this combination.
Pepper to taste (I take a mixture of peppers)
Salt and stir. I stir it with my hand, you can use a spoon.
I add olive oil (sunflower oil is possible) and mix a little with a spoon.
No water needs to be added. Otherwise, the taste of cooked cabbage will be different. We need to bake the cabbage, not stew it.
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees (bottom heating only) and cook the cabbage for about 50 minutes. It may take less or more time. It all depends on the cabbage itself, and what kind of cabbage you like - to crunch a little or be completely soft.
After 20 minutes of cooking, I take out the cabbage and mix. Back in the oven.
I repeat this procedure again after 20 minutes.
Those. I stir the cabbage 2 times - this is done so that it does not burn from above.
Anticipating your questions, I will immediately answer - yes, you can cover it with foil and not mix anything. But, the taste of cabbage will not be the same! It will be more stewed to taste, but I don't need that. So decide for yourself whether to cover with foil or stir it a couple of times.
I cooked cabbage for exactly 50 minutes. It turns out to be very tasty, juicy and incredibly aromatic.
