It's no secret that you won't find a good cucumber in the store in winter! And so I always harvest your cucumbers for the winter. Try to prepare at least a few cucumbers in this way, and you will understand that this is a great way to save cucumbers for the winter.
We always enjoy the aroma and taste of our cucumbers, which we have prepared since summer, in winter!
For you, I have prepared a short video on how to store cucumbers, see:
A step-by-step recipe with a photo of how to prepare cucumbers for the winter:
First, the cucumbers need to be washed and dried well.
I cut off the edges of the cucumbers and cut the cucumbers into cubes.
The note: I have cucumbers from my garden, so I don't remove the peel.
I put cucumbers in a food bag (I got 3 bags)
I distribute them in a thin layer. I tuck the edge of the bag (empty) under the cucumbers.
I do the same with two more bags of cucumbers.
I stack them on top of each other and send them to the freezer.
Advice: never freeze whole cucumbers (from experience).
How to use frozen cucumbers correctly:
Do not defrost cucumbers in any way.
For example: I make okroshka and add cucumbers last. I take it straight out of the freezer and immediately add it. If I make a salad, the same thing. Then you will get cucumbers with good taste and color.
I just take out the right amount of cucumbers from the bag and send it back to the freezer until next time.
I also recommend make a smoothie from frozen cucumbers: kefir, cucumbers, herbs. I love!
I highly recommend this method of harvesting cucumbers for the winter! Try it just a little ...
