Have you ever had something that you froze something, but after defrosting a year later, you found "something" and smiled pleasantly?
I think that something similar at least once, but happened to everyone.
I just had just such a case.
I decided to freeze cucumbers here last year and it so happened that I "stuffed" them into the farthest corner of the freezer and forgot about them. Well, they just did not come across to me! Sometimes it happens...
My mother-in-law forgot to close the freezer, I saw it about three hours later (I was a little upset about this situation). I closed the door, but after a few days everything in the freezer was covered with frost and an urgent defrosting was needed.
Yesterday I began to defrost the freezer and saw these cucumbers! So I wondered what they tasted like, looked like and whether they were suitable for any dish.
This is how they froze and formed a single lump. I froze cucumbers in a regular bag, although it would be better if I did it in special freezer bags.
I cut the cucumbers into small squares (when freezing).
This is how they look now.
I tried it and you know what, I was pleasantly surprised! The aroma of real summer cucumbers. Not so strong, of course, but it is! There was no impression that you were eating it was not clear what. It was clear that these were cucumbers.
The main thing, as I understood it, is not to defrost them, otherwise they just turn into "porridge".
I decided to add these cucumbers to okroshka. And none of the relatives even realized that these cucumbers were frozen. I really liked this idea of freezing cucumbers. Even after a year you can eat them!
In a salad, of course, already such cucumbers "in hoarfrost" are not suitable. But in cold soups with a bang, and in smoothies, vegetable cocktails too.
I used to freeze cucumbers, but usually they were eaten within a couple of months, and then a year later they also taste good. Use it!
