Greetings to all readers of my channel! My name is Christina and I am very glad to see you on my culinary channel.
Today I will tell you why I dry so many tomatoes every year. This year I have already prepared about 10 kilograms for the winter and I am not going to stop. I want to dry at least 15 kilograms of tomatoes, or even more! I do this every year.
Friends, having tried my workpiece, now also do so and will not get enough of it. I hear words of gratitude every winter. And how nice it is!😍
And now a second of humor: 😂
When I didn't want to go to bed, my sister (12 years older) offered to play as if we were vegetables in the garden. I was a tomato and she was a cucumber. We went under the covers and waited to grow up. I always fell asleep quickly :)
The anecdote is taken from the site shytok.net
My grandmother used to harvest tomatoes in a similar way (she dried them in the sun, on the roof). So I came up with an idea of how to dry tomatoes at home without having a roof or an electric dryer, and I improved this method of harvesting, "fitted" it to a city apartment. Suitable for everyone!
I will leave a link to this recipe at the end of the publication, take a look. You'll like it!
WHY do I dry tomatoes? Here are 5 reasons:
FIRST: this preparation for the winter takes up a minimum of space. From 2 kilograms of fresh tomatoes, a small jar of dried ones is obtained. Everyone can do. Not everyone has a place to freeze tomatoes (by the way, a link to an article on how to freeze and use frozen tomatoes at the end of the post), not everyone has a cellar to store conservation.
SECOND: such tomatoes can be stored for more than one year and there is no need to worry that such a blank will swell, disappear and all the work was in vain.
THIRD: This blank can be used to make delicious tomato paste, tomato sauce or ketchup. The taste is amazing. Can't be compared to store-bought or even frozen tomato. Or you can just add tomato powder to meat, fish, vegetables, soups. Universal seasoning.
FOURTH: I saw such dried tomatoes in a store for 2000 rubles a kilogram. For tomatoes? Really? I have tomatoes from my garden - free. And in winter, how much do they cost? Yes, expensive! And I have a gift. 😉
FIFTH: this is a very good way to keep a big crop very quickly, easily and simply. This is how I save my harvest.
That's why I dry tomatoes. Do you do that? Write in the comments!subscribe to the channel, You will find a lot of interesting things.
