How to cook herring under a fur coat twice as fast (before the holidays I often do this)

There are always a lot of things to do before the holidays. And, of course, I want to be in time for everything and not get very tired. Therefore, these little tricks often help out.

Herring under a fur coat, I think, many people cook for the New Year's table (write in the comments, do they cook in your family?) But this dish is not the fastest. It takes a lot of time. That only processing herring is worth! And it takes at least an hour to cook vegetables.

But for many years I have been doing it so that it takes me 15-20 minutes to prepare this salad, beloved by all of us.

It's simple. I bake (or boil) beets and carrots in advance. Many do that, yes. But I do it sometimes much in advance, let it cool and seal it in a vacuum bag. So vegetables are stored for more than a month. So you can prepare already grated and cut vegetables, which will significantly speed up the process!

You can boiled beets and freeze. To do this, I rub it on a grater, transfer it to a plastic container and put it in the freezer. It remains to move the container from the freezer to the refrigerator a few hours before preparing the salad.

But vegetables still don't take as much time as preparing herring for salad.

Therefore, I necessarily I cook in advance (about one to two weeks). At this time, you can still buy quality fish without any problems and much cheaper than on the last days before the holidays! I always salt the herring myself (I will leave a link to the video where I showed several ways how I salt the herring on the festive table). When the herring is ready, I clean it, remove all the bones (slowly when I have time) and cut it into pieces.

Then I put it in plastic containers and put it in the freezer.

You can simply put it on a plate, pack it in a bag and also freeze.

I must say right away that after defrosting, the herring does not differ at all from the freshly chopped one. The same lightly salted and tasty!

To add fish to a salad, just transfer it to the refrigerator for a few hours. Or, if you need it urgently, put it on the table. After 10-15 minutes, the fish can be used.
